I love Bali Batik and I'll make Quilt with this Bali Batik Jelly Roll.

Now I will work on the brown one.
Someone wants me to make a quilt with brown color... I guess I need to train my eyes not only to the bright like I used to like... but also look to the subtle color of the earth...
Calm... that's what I feel.
I'll do the bargello with a modern twist...
Aha... how will it turns out...? Let me do the design first... ok... then the sewing... then the cutting... and sewing again....

I'm still in awe every time I look at Bargello Quilts. Really wander how they make it like that.
Ooh well I will start small and easy I suppose... I'll get there.. (If I'm consistent and persistent and patience enough ) LOL
My friend asked me to make a prayer mat again with this Bargello pattern. And my sister wants to have a wallet big enough to hold her check book.
Feeling excited indeed when auditioning the fabrics.. I love every steps in the process of making this Bargello Quilts. and when you see the colors and design start to emerge... your heart will pound harder.. and the adrenalin goes whirling around... Excitement is for sure.
I use Bali Batik which gives me the right color like I want to..
This is the fabric that I'm going to use for the wallet/ handphone organizer. This is the first time for me... so wish me luck...
A small version of Bargello....

Looooove the color... it is speaking my heart languange... a serene and peaceful blue and green... a dash of pink and purple just make them alive.
Put them together..
Make a tube.. by sewing the top and the bottom part of the fabrics
Then...Slice them up...
And now... it's about time to arrange the fabrics..
and sew them row by row
Pressing is an important step on making a quilt. so I did it. :) So I have a clean and neat surface to quilt.
I'll Quilt by machine...

Sewing the Zipper is a real challenge for me. I do and undo it to get it right. and finally... when it comes out all right... I really proud of my self for not quit easily.
I'm trying something different to take a picture... Bird cage and green grass.. and silk roses ?
Nothing is connected to each other... but I just like it...
This small project is sure another milestone in my sewing adventure...
I love it. This is a birthday present for my sister. Hope she likes it.

I made other Quilt Sampler to prepare a Quilting Class.
And now I have to piece the blocks together, adding sashing and border and ready to Quilt.
Oh, but I like the way they are together without sashing...
they are just blend together...

I did this sampler blocks quilts years ago... a ah... I won't tell you what year is that... LOL. I think I did post this blocks already.. Oh well I don't actually remember myself..
Every time I saw this blocks I promise myself to finished it, but never did it till a few days ago.
When my friend wants to learn how to Quilt..then I just realize that is better to show her a sampler Quilts.
Well, although I have other Quilts for her to see, I need to show her a Sampler Quilt which is what a beginners need to learn.
So... there it is...
I pushed myself to complete it.
With other intermezzo of making wallet and pouches... I put my hands to work on this Sampler Quilt
I need to put them together by adding sashing and border.. and still have to quilt it.... I love hand quilt... but doing it myself which now have to use my glasses... ooooo... I doubt myself. Can't I do it ?

Ini adalah Quilt sampler yang dibuat beberapa tahun yang lalu... Blocksnya selesai lalu ditinggal... :) sampai akhirnya ada teman yang ingin diajarkan Quilt.. baru deh Blocks ini disambung... setelah disambung masih harus di Quilt.... o owh... Sebenarnya aku suka Hand Quilt... tapi masih sanggupkah dikerjakan sendiri ?
rasanya melihat Quilt sebesar ini.. dan mata yang harus selalu tidak lepas dari kacamata.. aku perlu bantuan niiiih... :)
Ingin sekali melihat Quilt ini selesai dan dipajang di Sewing Room..

I bought this japanese fabrics months ago..
and don't know what to make with this.. because this is only 1/8 yards. It is quite expensive.
Japanese patchwork are famous with those colors and the little applique... oooh I can't do it... they are too small. They make a sunbonnet sue on the coin pouch... wow.. my eyes just couldn't take it anymore...
so.. I make with I had in mind...
a coin pouch... look at those little zipper... cute right ?

It is not perfect... but functional...

A short discussion with a friend leads me to a Zipper conversation. A whole bunch of Zipper !!! He has lots of them and have no idea what to do with them because his friend just gave up the bag production. When I saw them my heart was jumping for joy... knowing that I can use this to make my future projects of pouch, wallets, bags and accessories...
I'm into pouches, wallets and bags these days... so it just make sense if I want to have the zipper.
and last year I also make a brooch zipper... but you know.. before I can explore more about it... I'm distracted with other things that come along the way...
Then Bham... suddenly these Zipper now are in my sewing room. Still can't believe my eyes. I have lots of them.. in a few colors too.
These are more than I expected and may be more than I need.
:). Ready to see them ? LOL... Close your eyes... Tha da....

Making little cutie things that are useful is my favorite. One of them is a pincushions..
A few weeks ago someone buy 10 pincushions. Wow..
I guess she would like to make them as a gift. :)
I'm trying to make something I never done before.
since I like mannequin... then I tried to make one...
and with Mary Engelbreit's fabric.. it comes out beautifully. I just love it.
It is not quite slim... LOL.. need to trim those 'fat' filling then....

This is the second time I made fabrics wallet. Trial and error seems just ocured. Well, I learn from my mistakes.. sometime I made mistakes because I just don't follow instruction.. I just thought I can make this kind of things... but the real thing is not that easy.
Like this wallet.. I just cut a piece of fabrics without really care about precision.. well you get the idea... I did undo it many time before I really satisfy..
The bias is a bit bigger. I need to improve it for the next wallet. I think it will look better with small bias.
Not bad for the first project.
as usual... every cute sewing projects can make me having a sleepless night. Too excited... and definitely this is a new addictions...

Ini adalah dompet yang kedua yang aku buat... beberapa kali di dedel karena potongan kainnya miring... atau jahitan kurang rapi. Bisbannya yang warna hijau juga terlihat besar ya ? kalau dikecilin pasti lebih baik... ok d... untuk dompet selanjutnya..

I made this wallet to join the crowd in my sewing group, and really love it. since it doesn't take a long time to finished it. It makes a great gift too... and the important thing is it is functional !
I take all my fabrics out and sort which one will be end up as a wallet. Excited. I cut them all together so I'll save time. Next thing to do is sew... sew... sew....

I need some improvement, but I like it.

Koleksi kainku mulai di pilih2 mana yang cocok untuk dijadikan dompet... he he... kegiatan yang mulai menyita waktu niiih..

Remember that I posted a Fat Quarter fabric that I like ? It is a Red color fabrics with a sewing and quilting stuff printed on fabrics.
I made a pouch and a glasses case... Yeay another milestone for me...

Yes I did, because I gather all kind of good character in me to reach my goal. Persistence. Patience. Good ambition.
The process is just an ordinary drill... but making this by myself... is really something.

I think it would be more appealing.
