Antique table

I had lunch at Javanese style resto which served Authentic Javanese food. The Ambiance is showed with lots of antique furniture.  They do have a table from sewing machine like this.
It would be great if I had this in my house :)

I will take more pictures if I come back here again...

Batik Lawas Quilt

Old Batik is popular now among Batik lovers in Indonesia. It is a piece of Batik cloth that were worn and was collected from a small village especially through Java island. The color of old Batik or as we called them Batik Lawas are mostly in the shades of Brown.  They are truly loved by people who likes antique and ethnic stuff.

I like this old Batik too... it gives it's own charm.
I have a blouse from batik Lawas and a Patchwork Bed cover.. which I don't use as a Bed cover.. I 'll do a little project instead. like dolls and pillow cover..or even a bag.

This is Bed cover made from old batik cloth... without any batting. without any quilting. They just pieced the square for top and bottom.

and I made necklace from Batik Lawas like this...

Love to see how this Old Batik can have a new form and live longer.... :)

:) he he belum apa2 sudah muji sendiri...

Creative Challenge

The first time I make the project with only 1 fat quarter fabric. Sure is a challenge for me. Lots of ideas comes up, especially when my eyes was having a feast looking at the beautiful projects at Pinterest. I would love to make something functional. This is what is in my mind :
- scissor holder and pincushion
- tote bag
- cosmetic bag
- fabric box
- accessories
- pot holder
I finally decide to make a hand towel that I will put on near the sink.
I used to make the simple one with only attached the patchwork to the towel, but now I challenge myself to make a doll dress on top of the towel. This is not easy for me..especially when I have to attached the arm section. LOL... I stitch it by hand when I failed using sewing machine.
I love the color.. I never had orange color around the house, but now this cute orange towel will surely stand out in the kitchen.
Yeaaay...!

I make a pot holder to save the fabric remnants...
so.. this is what I made...
Pssst.. I'll submit this to a craft group  to win a gorgeous fabrics. ha ha... wish me luck ok..

This is the fabric. 18 x 21 inch.

 Cutting the pattern...

Now is sewing time.... a real challenge.. :)

I learn how to put frames on the pictures... so... this is it..
Voila.......!

Finally.. I did it...
This is fun... really.. especially when I can share this to a craft group full with creative people.

Yuk mari berkarya...

Ironing day

I usually comforted with coffee and books on the cold wheather, but now doing ironing comforted me in it's own way... I iron not my clothes, but my fabrics scraps. When I get my sewing room cleaned I found those bags full of fabrics scrap.. unsorted. OMG.. this is works I need to get it done. So there I was.... spending the morning on a cold wheather... ironing.... I kinda like it, cause my sewing room is ( a bit ) cleaner... and I got warm because of the heat from ironing :)

This is not a trash.... this is definitely a treasure... :)

Felt so good after ironing....
Now they are ready for a new life...
I need to take time to design and decide what I am gonna make with this treasure....

Lady bag doll

This Lady bag doll is for storing those plastic bag from our grocery.. so it is easier for us to find it whenever we need it... so neat too...
Her cloth is from Batik. Lovely isn't she ?

Proudly be in the kitchen... give her best service to my family... :)

Salam hangat dari sang pembuat boneka..

Soutache

I am kinda of curious person. I am eager to know if I can make pretty things and love to explore more what I can create differently.

When my eyes caught a jewelry works made with soutache then I just felt the urge to try it. Rush to the craft shop and looking for the supplies. Well I have lots of beads, so what I need is just the cord called soutache.
I tried to make a brooch.. but I am telling you this is not easy... I did trial and error.. and almost give up. My fingers are poked with those sharp needle, but hey... don't ever give up !

All you need is be patience with yourself... trust your instinct... and in no time you'll see your creative juices will be flowing... and your hands are busy.

This is what I called pretty things... I made this... Yeay me !
I am not to the level of  satisfied yet. I need to practice more to get the finest result I can be proud of.

Feels so great after accomplished this small beading project.

 Happy beading,

Needle book

Other than Pincushions and needles box, know I put my needles on a little fabric needle book. Cute to own and make it by yourself. With a little scrap of fabrics, felt and ribbons you surely can make it.
I saw a magazine with a bonus of fabrics to make this needle book. I bought it. and make it... and... tha daaa...

Small gift like this will be very nice for a Sew Lover.
I will surely make more... :) ha ha it makes my projects list longer...

Ngga lama kemudian jadi deh..... :)

Simply Happy :)

Beautiful Garden

I just love being in the garden... either they are small or big.. indoor or outdoor.. full of blooming flowers or just natural greenery.  Garden gives the right energy for me. I know maintaining a Garden is not that easy.. Lots of TLC ( Tender Loving Care ) is required to make plants grows beautifully. That is why this place was like beyond my thoughts when they gather plants from around the world.. put them . indoor with a cool air condition. WOW !

A chance to visit  this garden was a big opportunity for me.
Just felt the love being in the garden that big. My heart sang along while I was inside. :). I saw only beauty.

I took this pictures... so what do you think you will feel when you are there ?

A little getaway means big inspirations

One of my wish list is having a family vacations and hopefully in low seasons. But finding the right time is not easy. My son only have a holiday on high seasons holiday, which makes all the prices goes up from airplane ticket , tours to hotel rates.  I believe that God always give me the right thing on the right time... most of my planned itinerary just stay in my notes, but this time... when things unplanned.. we had a chance to go for vacations... for 5 days... in low seasons... awesome !

We didn't go far from our country.. but enough to have a new eye opening for my teenage son. I wanted him to see the world.. seeing new things.. trying new foods.. meeting new people... broaden the knowledge.. know other cultures....

And on the other hand, I am so excited to get out from routines... and get some inspirations... booster... new energy... :) oooh so grateful.

Of course my little cute  clown travelled with us....
Took a lot of pictures about the activities... we had fun.
Thanks be to God.

5 days  seem too short to spend, but I missed my home already...
Wow.. that's what it means... Home sweet home...

So grateful,
