Vacation - Greece # 2

I spent a few days at Athena and then headed to Poros. The weather is nice.. a bit cool though. This place was really makes me feel like in a story book, so peaceful.. and lovely.
It is about 1 and half hours going there from Piraeus Port - Athens by jet boat.
And what surprise me was that when I got out from the boat I can see right away a row of coffee shop and houses up to the hill

And the view from Hotel is better than my imagination... and this is real... :). Wow I can't believe that I will be here for a few days.

The view from the  Hotel balcony is breathtaking...  this would be my favorite spot while I stayed there... so pardon my feet.. I really enjoyed the view..

The sky is blue... the sea is blue... even the bicycle is blue.. Simply beautiful. What's more should I ask ?

Every corner seems just perfect for painting objects..

Not to mention their unique houses' style with colorful doors.. which I loooove it.

And at night...they offer a romantic atmosphere too...
Lovely.
And the flowers... ? oooh they are feast to my eyes....

Here.. I can feel far from the hectic world.
Here.. I can breathe a fresh air
Here.. I enjoyed what vacation is all about... relaxing my body and mind... Thank you Lord.

Vacation- Greece #1

Traveling sure excites me to the bones !.. I just love being at a new place.. seeing a wonderful scenery... meeting new people... trying new foods.. and do a little shopping of course :)

Now that I had a chance to visit a far away country.. thousands miles away from home. Sure makes my heart jumps for joy from the document preparation.. packing and browsing places I would like to visit...
It is a really nice if for once in a while I get out from routines of the little world of mine.

Greece.. here I come.. :)
May, 2014
Having lunch at the Acropolis museum.. top floor with this stunning view is awesome.....

Still standing to this day after thousands of years..

This statue is the real one from Parthenon. Now it moved to the Museum.

This is a miniature Parthenon in the Museum

I spent 2 days to visit 2 museum... I need to digest slowly to really understand about all of this... wandering how they can build such a majestic place like this and last for thousands years...

The statue are so beautiful... Their hands are so skilful to captured the beauty of women's body and face and the details of her hair.
there is nothing like they would miss it.
Look at this one... really nice with a red wall  back ground. The drapery cloth seems so real.. and the women face is so beautiful.

This one tells that  She was seduced and ready to hit him with her sandals...

Spending my time at this Museum was like going back to the past era..Still I was in awe.

to be continued...

English Paper Piecing ( EEP )

I have lots of fabrics scraps... and don't know what I'm gonna do with them. I sort them out to make a pile of larger, medium and small fabrics. I threw all little fabrics that can't be used. Actually if I paint with fabric scraps, then nothing is wasted.

English paper piecing seems the right answer to do the projects. There are so many pattern to make a quilt with this methods...
and I need to pick them... I would like to make Star quilt from diamond shapes... and Flower from hexagon shapes...

So.. I draw pattern. multiply and cut them one by one.
and start to sew.. by hand.
First, making this kind of quilt seems like forever...
but when your mood is on the air... nothing can stop you. and when you start seeing Star and Flower shape.. it just gives you even more energy to sew some more... :)

My mom learned about this method and showed me that she made a table runner and she just finished her quilt top, while my project hasn't shown any progression. Felt like we're on a race.. then I need to finish one quick project.
This is what mom's made :

And  I know what I'm gonna make !
A skirt for my little one. Bravo.

Happy to use this patchwork applique on the skirt.
and my little one loves it. :)

I sure will make some more patchwork and make a bigger project.

Happy Sewing,
