My Throne

Do you reclaim one chair at your house as your throne ? 
I did. LOL
This is my throne... a blue office chair..
Adorned with green cushion seat and green patchwork pillow... 

I change the pillow if I get bored of course.. just to make my mood stays there while I'm working.... :)

I'm still juggling with my time just to sit in my throne everyday...
Hopefully when a little one goes to school everyday then I'll have more time sit here and create things...

New fabrics

Everyone needs candy to makes them a 'bit' happier... and they are all different kind for each person. What is your kind ?
Mine is fabrics or anything related to sewing or crafting... ha ha like you don't know...
Well... I just got this gorgeous solid batik emboss for my quilting project.
Love it...

Solid  color is good. it gives a nice rest to the eyes to relax after seeing lots of patterns.
Solid is good for backing , for a focal point... or for a back ground..

For example : Amish quilts use only solid fabrics.. and heavy hand quilting that are so wonderful. And now.. Modern Quilt use more solid color than pattern, and they turn out gorgeous !

 If you see any solid color at fabric store... Think twice... but not more than that.. cause you might regret if you don't buy it and added to your fabrics collections.

Pillow Cover

Some one asked to make her a pillow cover. I made something different now.. although it is a simple  pillow cover  but using 1 solid color and not a cotton fabrics is different feel for me. Usually I use cotton... and use more than one fabric because I love patchwork and quilting.

So this one is not a Quilted one.. nor a patchwork one... 
I browsed at Pinterest to get the idea... and got this kind of design which is really nice. This is it.

3 of them....
I bought another color fabrics and would like to make something like this for myself, only I'll combine the bow with other contrast fabric.

Glad to finished this pillow cover.. :)
Let's move on to another sewing projects...

Membuat sarung bantal bukan dari bahan katun dan dengan hanya 1 warna kain saja adalah sesuatu yang lain untukku... karena biasanya pakai jenis kain katun dan menggunakan  beberapa macam kain, karena aku suka patchwork dan quilts. 

Membuat  3 sarung bantal ini bisa untuk menambah jam terbang pengalaman menjahit bahan selain katun deh....

Aku juga beli kain sejenis dengan warna yang berbeda... mau buat yang seperti ini tapi tentunya pitanya lain warna....

A new challenge

I joined a group of sewing enthusiast...at Face Book. It is a Craftalova.  It is good to know people that share the same interest with me.   They are just  gave me the boost to create something.  I'm so glad that the lady who organized this group is active . She always keeping us busy  to share our sewing project.. and literary we support, inspire and gave information to each other about sewing world everyday. :)

They shared their works and I shared mine.. from amigurumi, pincushions, skirt and quilting projects, and others share their works from clothes to tote bag.. and many more...

There are a mini parade to showed our little things such as doll or pincushions or brooches.. to name a few and  challenges to create stuff from fat quarter fabrics which is really lots of things they can make with a piece of FQ fabrics. and there are sew along projects with a tutorial..
Fun.. Fun... Fun...

Most of this sew lovers now are into the handmade bags and wallets... things that I never tried to make before... I would love to make them... someday. I now this kind is not my cup of tea.. but I think it is good to get out from my comfort zone.

And now.... there are a challenge to make a project with color preferences. Hot and Cool color..
Sure I want to challenge myself... to joined the crowd..
This excites me... at least for a few days my brains is busy thinking... drawing the design and making something.  Hot and Cool color is the choice to make 3 category of stuff : Accessories, Home decor and Bag and purses.


I choose to make accessories with hot and cool color .. since my table is now full of beads and soutache.. and anything related to accessories making so...I might choose to make a pendant.
Whew... hope I can do it and submit it on time. 
( * confidence... yeay... I'm better every day ) 

I'm still working on my skill to make soutache jewelry... which is really not easy for me... with trial and error I did it. .Why did I want to make something that is really difficult for myself to handle ? ooo that is because... the result of soutache jewelry is so pretty. ooh well pretty is not enough.. it is awesome.. it is stunning. or is there any word can describe soutache jewelry ? This kind of accessories really no limits at all. U can do whatever you want with those cords and beads... u can make it simple... or can make it "WOW".

My favorite color is Turquoise that will be a focal point. 
The color combinations are : Blue- Green as Cool color with Orange and Pink as Hot color.

I make a sketch.. but usually it ended up differently. because I make changes as I go along. :) he he typical me.

As you see.. it is attached one by one... whew... hard work indeed...
But I love the result...This is it....

Now I am ready to submit this...

Hmmm..what would I do after this... ? Going back to Quilting I guess :)

Design for Prayer Mat

This is design for Prayer Mat.. usually I'll make changes along the process... and the color option is not exactly the same, because I color with any available color that I have at home. :)

I did a modern design quilt for the last one.. ( yellow ). I have many design still in my mind. Soon I need to doodle again.. so all the ideas doesn't go away.

I need to make 2 Prayer Mat and don't know which design I'm going to use. One will use the pastel color... and the other one will use mostly brown color.

Ini adalah design yang saya buat untuk sajadah pesanan teman... biasanya akan ada perubahan sepanjang proses pembuatannya.. dan warnanya pun tidak persis sama seperti ini, karena diwarnainya dengan pensil warna yang tersedia di rumah :)

Ada modern design juga.. di gambar yang terakhir ( kuning ). Sebenarnya banyak ide yang masih tersimpan di benak ini... harus cepat di tuangkan dikertas niiih... biar ngga hilang :)

Ada 2 Sajadah yang akan dibuat..tapi belum ditentukan mana design yang akan dipakai. Satu warna pastel dan satu lagi nuansa warna coklat.

Quilting with Pastel fabrics

It has been a long time I don't have any pastel color in my fabric stash. Most of them are whimsical, very bright color, which I just love having them stacking nicely on my shelf.
so..  when somebody asked me to make a prayer mat Quilt with Pastel color. I don't think I have the fabrics on the shelf !

Oowh... I should run to the  store then... but like usual.. Life's surprises always pop up when you least expected it.
I got charms pack with pastel color as a gift when I ordered other bright charms pack !

I might combine those pastel fabric with a little dash of this bright fabrics..

They are Bali Batiks.. comes with lots of gradations color... with tons of beautiful pattern... and the result is always  wonderful !  Some day I will make Bargello Quilts from this kind of fabrics. Wheeew... must be lovely !

Crocheting

Still the story when I was on my vacation. Once your hands are used to make something... then no matter where you are... you will feel that your hands are itchy to make something from anything... either folding papers... sewing your patchwork... doodling... crocheting....
So.. this is happened to me too.... while I was in my vacation... my brains still thinking about crafting.... LOL.

Good things that I found a yarn shop across Poros... went there by boat for 1 euro. then walking to where the shop was. I bought yarns.. which I don't know what I'm gonna make.
But my heart told me that I need that.... 

So this is what I got..

Happy to finally able to finished it and my Lil one can wear it right away. 

Glad to use my time crocheting.....

Vacation - Greece # 3

One day trip to Hydra island.
Take one hour jet boat trip to this island. Little did I know that this island is just like a post card pictures... :)
Love being here... we scrolled down and saw the houses.. and souvenir shops and had a grand lunch with  this gorgeous view...

Flowers... Balcony... coffee shops with wooden blue chair.. are soo Greece.. :)

There are donkeys to help them carry anything around the island. so unique.

Their handmade stuff and souvenir shop are all cuties.

I couldn't resit myself not to buy something to remember that I was here :)

 

A day full of joy... !

I'm so glad to have this vacation. The best so far.. :) 

Thanking my mother-in-law and my family to make this vacation just like a dream come true... 

Went home with new spirit and lots of ideas for my future works..
