Pretty sewing box

I have  sewing box... and I have more than one. This is a woven bamboo that are used to available only in a natural color... then as anything evolve in this world, so this one too. They  make the colorful one... then put beads on it.... and now.. they painted it. Simply wonderful.  Creative people has no limit. :)

Like usual... I have too many wishes.. I want to make my own sewing box... and bla.. bla.. to many ideas without any realization.  Oooh but I really would love to paint on a wooden sewing box... some day... I have to make one.

Turqouise and Fuschia

My kind of colors now is Turqouise and Fuschia. It's a bright color that catch your eyes instantly.
Would be very vibrant for any craft project. I had fun painted my nails blue. Things I never done before. :)

I'll paint my nails another color to get inspirations for color harmony.. something that is not ordinary.. Let's do something that take you to another level.. keep evolving in your  life's journey.

Crochet necklace

Crochet is my other addiction. :) Can't help myself for not doing anything or thinking about making something.

Art and Craft is the best therapy for my hands and my minds..... :) or I can say that this kind of activities allow me to be myself unlimitedly. LOL . One of them is Crocheting.

This is what I make with yarns, beads and fabrics... I'm quite satisfied with all of them... but needs to make more... but I know my limitations with my  two hands I can't speed making this necklace. I can't catch up with what I see in my mind. I need assistant actually, but till then I just have to be happy doing this all by myself. :)

This is unique necklace. I haven't reproduce it even for different color selections. 

Merajut itu jelas mengasyikan... aktivitas yang membawa kepuasan pada saat merajutnya atau setelah melihat hasilnya... wah pasti deh maunya duduk manis dan merajut... dan kemana-mana bawa benang, gunting dan hakken.. jadi seandainya harus menunggu ada yang dikerjakan... waktu tak terbuang dan hatipun senang... :)

Tanganku memang rasanya tidak bisa diam dan dalam pikiranku juga selalu ada ide2 yang bermunculan. Aku membuat kalung rajutan ini dari benang rajut dan beads .

Kalung ini bagus untuk siapapun yang berani tampil unik..

Batik Necklaces #2

I just can't handle my mind and my hands. when they want to do something with any ideas that was come up.... my hands start creating things...LOL

But the same thing about what I do is everything handmade... and they are my labor of love... they came from my heart... that is for sure. Art from the heart to be precise.

I start making jewelry.. when I joined  bazaar a few years ago.  That things sell well.. and the story continues.. I make accessories           ( necklace, earrings, bracelets and brooches ) from all kinds of material... fabrics, ropes, yarn..zipper, ribbons, beads, sequins... 

Mixing and matching become an addictions... what I love the most is especially when some one like it and buy it. :), so I can create more..     

I'm thinking to make a new blog just for my handmade accessories... but now I still juggle with my time... I don't think I can handle 2 blogs to maintain...

Selain Quilts and boneka.. aku juga suka buat aksesoris... suka memadu padankan semua pernak pernikku... dari beads... batuk.. payet..kain.. benang...

Rasanya senang kalau lihat orang pakai sesuatu yang unik... Ini beberapa koleksi kalung batikku... biasanya aku pakai macam2 bahan untuk membuat aksesoris ( kalung, anting, gelang dan bros )

Quilted pillow cover

I was all alone when I started making craft, quilts and dolls.. 
Back then.. I read books... browsing cyber world... no one to share the quilt making..
But now... when everything is just as far as a click away... brings me closer to other people. They create group and discuss things, we support each other and exchange the knowledge.The world seems small now. makes me easier to connect to others without leaving home.

Since I don't want to neglect my creative spirit anymore... I'm using computer literally every morning ( before everyone woke up ) LOL which gives me a kick to start a day to know what's going on in the art and sewing world.

I joined the group of Quilting friends. It is nice having more friends who share the same passions with me.
The member keeps adding up. I am so glad that I can  find place to bloom along with them.


We have a homework to do.. and every body who finished it can upload their half done project's photo and ask what to do with them... or the finished work.


The project was all for beginner... well, I am not an expert (yet) not until I can make Bargello, New York Beauty, or Kaleidoscope, Modern or Art Quilt  I can't say myself is good on Quilt. he he he.  For me, sharing is caring, so I don't mind doing rail fence again... if I can inspire others to make it... and that's just makes me happy. 

For this project now I  learn to do machine quilting again... see.. there are always something good going on... :). I need to improve my skill. Thanks be to God :)

As a beginner group the homework is making a pillow cover with a rail fence pattern... so this is what I submitted to the group.

I haven't binding this Quilt... too excited to show it to you all... LOL
I have to finish this... or else my Phd ( Project half done ) will be adding up... oooh Nooo !

Batik necklace #1

I like making small things.. because it can be finished in a short time. Making necklaces are one of them. 

Now I learn photoshop... whoo hoo  felt good because I gained more knowledge how to modify pictures, put some words ...and it looks a bit sophisticated to me.

I find a new way to take a photo shoot now... I want something different than just put my necklace on the display as usual.
Look at this now... :) ( big smile on my face )

One day I want a model wearing this necklaces... LOL so.. you can see how it looks if somebody wears it. 

Belajar photoshop untuk memodifikasi foto itu sesuatu yang baru untukku... kalau liat foto2 yang mengiklankan produk tertentu itu dibuat untuk memberi kesan yang baik pada saat pertama kali orang melihatnya. Hmmm kerja dibalik itu ternyata tidak mudah..

Biasanya aku meletakkan kalung2 ini di display kalung yang terkesan sangat biasa.. tapi sekarang aku belajar bagaimana untuk mengharmonisasikan dengan warna background.. atau disatukan object lain tapi tetap kalung batiknya yang jadi fokus utama.

My drawing for Batik

I have been thinking about this project for a long time....

The idea actually isn't difficult. I want to paint a cloth.. combine it with fabrics.. quilt it.. and make a pillow cover.
easy right ? but the process I want is including Batik, Paint, and Quilt. 

First I need to do the drawing...  and color it   to combine every color that please my heart...
then I send my sample to the some one who do the batik and the painting.

Well I want it to be unique..  I know there is nothing new under the sun... I know that there people out there having the same ideas with me... but at least I will express what I see in my mind.

Get busy with those drawings.... I claimed a dining table for my drawing table ... :) I need a big space. My sewing table is full with sewing knick- knacks right now... :)

 
I love the watercolor effect... But I'm not mastering watercolor ( yet ) ha ha like I'm so confidence to learn it well, so what I did is using my skill right now.... coloring like a little kids.. and having fun... without have to worry about anything. I think I'll have a different result if I really did batik and paint the cloth.

I kinda like the result... hopefully they can copy and repaint this on the cotton cloth just the way I like it.

Sudah lama aku ingin mewujudkan gambar2ku ini di atas selembar kain yang dibatik dan diwarnai... tp belum menemukan pembatik yang bisa mengerjakannya... sepertinya harus membatik sendiri niiiih... he he..

Aku suka efek warna cat air.... tapi ngga tahu juga apa bisa untuk diwujudkan di atas kain. Sekarang tahapnya baru sampai sketsa dan warna2 diatas kertas saja.

Bali Batik

Bali is an island in Indonesia. So popular for tourist destinations. For me, the island is magical. I love spending time in Bali..
I love the ocean...the rice field.. the mountain.. the paintings... the market... the shops... 
Balinese people are skilful for making any kind of Art. So many people around the world come and bring ideas and give so much color for to influence their Art.

Bali Batik is kind of different than other Batik. The process has similarity, but the color choices is really distinctive. The color graduation available is luring quilters use Bali Batik for Quilt making.

It is not easy to find Bali Batik cotton for quilting in Indonesian market a few years back... because they sent them out mostly to the U.S but now it is available even on cutting fabrics like jelly roll and charm packs. Lovely.

I'm just drooling seeing all those Batiks...
this is my stash and more ( you know that we have a secret place to hide all those fabrics... LOL )

Can't wait to create something for with these batiks...

Lovely right ?  I want to make a bed cover for myself now...
still don't know the pattern.. I'm thinking using more solids and use this batiks as an accent... kind of a modern Quilt, I can say.  

The blue batik is the one that I used to create star when I make a handpieced block with my sister. 

Aku suka dengan Batik Bali karena  warnanya bergradasi  dan coraknya yang bervariasi. Sangat cocok untuk dibuat Quilt.

Sekarang lebih mudah untuk mendapatkan Batik Bali katun yang sebelumnya hanya di ekspor ke luar negri.

Bahkan sekarang sudah tersedia yang dipotong seperti jelly roll       ( potongan panjang dengan lebar 2.5 inch ) yang digulung cantik  ataupun charm packs ( potongan 5 inch ).

Cocok sekali untuk aplikasi dan patchwork untuk dibuat Quilt, boneka.. tas... sarung bantal... wah banyak deh.....

Yukkk mari berkarya dengan bahan buatan negri sendiri...

All about Stars

Star pattern is very common for quilters... it creates beauty.. with those sharp edges... they seem difficult to make.       
You just need a willingness to do it... piecing those small pieces together... patiently... and  you'll be satisfied with the result.

I picked this pattern because I wanted to learn about a precision. Not easy... but I had to try...
I learned from making mistakes...
Do and re-do... that's how I learn.

But when this quilt is finished.... I could take a long deep breath... Thanking God that I learn about new skill. Yeaaay !!!!

I gave this Quilt top to my Mother... she sew the backing and the front.... without quilting it. :) so I guessed I will call this Star quilt top... LOL.
She used this as a table cloth... Nice.

This is the picture of the star blocks.. I think every star has a name..

What happened when you are finished making a quilt ?

Just like giving birth to a lovely baby.... your heart just full of love... love... love... :)

Gardening

Those who loves gardening harvest happiness..
That is true.
I do love gardening... and felt so happy when I saw  my plants shows some  buds .

I love this plants. Bauhenia is the name if I'm not mistaken. 
This is not an easy to find plants, cost higher than any flowery plants.. but if you see the flower blooming... it is worth it...

I've been waiting for this plants to grow and show some buds.. but not till months.. I didn't see anything. I always keep my eyes on it... till one day.. I'm so excited to see the buds... 
Jump for joy for sure... :) took my camera and take a picture of it...
and a week later.. the flower start showing off... ooooh I am so happy...

This flower will adorn my fence... and to the carport pergola..  love it...

Flowers equals happiness.. that is for sure.
